Gourmet Cooking the Easy Way - CITY AM

Want to host a gourmet Christmas party without any of the stress of cooking? The folks at The Kitchen, run by Alain Ducasse protégé Thierry Laborde, have the answer. Go to www.visitthekitchen.com at least 48 hours ahead to book your slot and choose which of eight dishes you fancy making.

Once at the shop, you’ll be led to your own workspace to “make” your chosen meals. All you do is whisk the occasional egg, crush a few potatoes and shape your fishcakes under Laborde’s tutelage. It’s batch cooking, only without the cooking – or the washing-up. Everything will keep for four to five days and food costs £5 a portion.

A Night Out in London - Evening Standard

"....with the click of a reply button on an email the process was underway. It was just a matter of arranging a date for our Kitchen experience...

...,,Maria and I both went with the option of a week's worth of evening meals for two. M&S would have to cope with one less customer for a few days...

......It's so much more satisfying to know exactly what you are getting for dinner. In this case it was high-quality, healthy food....

.....The organic salmon and smoked haddock fishcakes were a particular favourite. The roasted fillet of cod was also delicious......

....I'll certainly think twice before taking my trolley down the ready meal aisle".

Amira Hashish, Evening Standard 01.10.08
